November Coalition News

November Coalition News

Hello Members,

It’s been a busy month and with Thanksgiving upon us I’ll keep the November News short.

Your Board met in Monterey this month to discuss year end items including financials, dues and accomplishments. I’m always amazed how synced up our board is when we meet to discuss issues, plan ahead and make decisions. A big thank you to them for their dedication to this association. We also welcomed Terry Warford from CTTA as an allied association seat on the board.

Some successful accomplishments we discussed this year were:

  • A PSA safety video on the Slow Down Move Over Law
  • Trips to four Towing Trade Shows
  • An exclusive agreement with RA Storelee Ins that puts money back into the Coalition
  • The building of a training program
  • Valuable relationships within the Industry

One of those valued relationships is with Tow Times. As mentioned in previous newsletters, Tow Times has helped your Coalition spread the word on the PSA video, contributed to some of the shows we attended and has just placed a UCMCS ad, see above, in their December publication for free! Thank you Clarissa Powell and Tow Times for supporting us! The board also voted to keep our dues the same for 2016. As we grow and add benefits and value to our members, costs will inevitably rise however If we need additional funds for a project or initiative, we will reach out for donations. For now though, your 2016 dues will not increase.

Since we’re on the subject of 2016, a reminder we have elections coming up. The Board has decided on the date and location which is Wednesday, February 24th at the Jelly Belly Factory in Fairfield. More details to follow. I have had a few members show interest in getting on the ballot. If you are interested, please email me. There will be plenty of positions available if you want to get involved.

Lastly, one of our goals this year when singing up an exclusive insurance broker was to create an insurance captive for workers compensation. Rob Storelee recently informed me that we now have an insurance company to build this with. We will be meeting in the early part of 2016 to discuss the details. Great news, thank you Rob!

Please support all of our Associate Members. That list is bellow and it is growing!

Thank you again for your support and have a Happy Thanksgiving!

All the best, Steve
